Coal mine collapses in northern Mexico, nine miners trapped

Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador announced the collapse of a coal mine in the northern state of Cola, noting that about 9 miners were under the rubble.

Obrador tweeted: “Coal mine in Sabinas, Coahuila collapsed resulting in flooding in the Addita area and it looks like 9 miners are trapped.”

The authorities launched a search and rescue operation, which involved dozens of people and four Ministry of Defense dogsleds.
