Clubs unite to help victims of the earthquake in Turkey

Turkey’s top league clubs have put rivalries and differences aside and decided to join forces to help those affected by the “devastating” earthquake that hit 10 regions in the country’s south a few days ago.

Galatasaray officials, league leaders of the current 2022-2023 season, Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzonspor discussed the idea of developing a joint jersey and putting it up for sale at a Club Association meeting.

Proceeds from the sale of this shirt will be donated to those affected by the natural disaster, according to the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

The Besiktas Club continues its work of delivering food to the earthquake areas with dozens of trucks, with the apparent support of the fans who collected their donations at the Vodafone Park stadium.

As for Fenerbahce, it has been working from the first days to help the suffering, but for its part, he stressed that the most urgent need is to provide tents.

Galatasaray called on its fans to send their donations and deposit them into the accounts of the club, which in turn will prepare thousands of shelters equipped with everything necessary for life.

Trabzonspor has announced the allocation of funds raised from the team’s match against Swiss Basel in the European Conference League to help those in need.

Basaksehir Istanbul Club continues to send humanitarian aid trucks to the affected areas, so it has prepared two new trucks, one of which is heading to Adi Yaman and the other one will go to Malatya.
