Cancellation of sending Ukrainian grain to Lebanon and disclosure of the reason

The Embassy of Ukraine in Beirut reported that the contract for the sale of the first batch of grain exported by Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian military operation was terminated due to a delay in its delivery to Lebanon.

The Ukrainian embassy in Lebanon said in a statement that “a five-month delay in delivery of the consignment prompted the buyer and seller to agree to cancel the order,” noting that “the seller is looking into other requests to purchase grain.”

The Sierra Leone-flagged cargo ship Razzoni left the port of Odessa on the Black Sea on August 1 with 26,000 tons of corn and was due to arrive at the port of Tripoli in Lebanon last Sunday.

Razzoni was inspected last week in Istanbul by Turkish and Russian experts and is currently parked in Mersin in southern Turkey, according to an AFP report citing a maritime traffic tracking website.
