US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken assured Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid that the US is ready to confront “common threats”, including “from Iran”.
A State Department statement following Wednesday’s phone call said Blinken congratulated Lapid on his new appointment.
Blinken stressed to Lapid, “The firm commitment of the United States to the US-Israel partnership and Israel’s security, and to confronting common threats, including those coming from Iran.”
Blinken emphasized US support for a two-state solution, noting that US President Joe Biden is seeking to intensify partnership with Israel during his upcoming visit.
