Bizarre Twist: Runner Mysteriously Loses Gold Medal and Valuable Cash Prize

Ethiopian runner Senberry Teferi missed out on a first-place finish in the 10-kilometer Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta held annually in the US state of Georgia.

Sinbury Teferi ran to the finish line in first place, but took a wrong turn in the last meters, which cost her the gold medal and the main cash prize for the race.

The winner of the race receives a cash prize of $10,000, second place $5,000, and third place $3,000.

Nearly 50,000 people take part in the “Peach Tree Road Race”, which is being held for the 54th time in its history.
