Biden’s wife leaves quarantine after testing negative for coronavirus

US First Lady Jill Biden is set to exit lockdown after two back-to-back tests for Covid-19 came back negative, her media director announced Sunday.

“The First Lady will travel from South Carolina to Delaware later in the day after self-isolating for five days and testing negative on two consecutive Covid-19 tests,” Elizabeth Alexander said in a statement.

Jill Biden, 71, who announced she had contracted Covid-19 on Tuesday, had “mild symptoms” according to the White House.

And she self-isolated in South Carolina in the southeastern United States, where she was vacationing with her husband, Joe Biden, who tested negative and was able to continue his activities.

First American woman to receive Pfizer’s antiviral drug Baxlovid, which could lead to a positive test result at a later date, as happened to President Joe Biden.

The 79-year-old US president was diagnosed with Covid-19 in late July with mild symptoms, forcing him to self-isolate for about two weeks before testing negative on August 6.
