Biden’s personal assistant resigns

US President Joe Biden’s personal assistant has decided to retire after more than three years in the White House.

The White House has confirmed that Steven Goepfert will leave his current position this weekend to take up a new position at the Department of Transportation.

“From the campaign trail to the White House, Steven Goepfert was by my side,” Biden said in a statement. “In moments big, small and extraordinary, he was a true friend everyone could count on.” in the Biden-Harris administration as he continues his career in public service.”

Göpfert is the first gay man on the presidential staff and began working as Biden’s personal assistant in 2019 during the presidential campaign.
