Biden reaffirms the strong relationship between his country and Brazil in a phone call with President-elect Lula da Silva.

Today, Monday, US President Joe Biden reiterated the strong relationship between Washington and Brazil in a telephone conversation with President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the White House said.

The White House statement said Biden and Lula are “committed to continuing to work together as partners to address common challenges, including combating climate change, protecting food security, advancing inclusiveness and democracy, and managing regional migration.”

Lula defeated President Jair Bolsonaro on Sunday by the narrowest margin in modern Brazilian history (50.9% compared to 49.1%).
