“During the implementation of the Black Sea Initiative, more than 70 ships were detained, and some were even stopped due to systematic violations related to non-compliance with the rules of navigation in the sea grain ship and attempts to smuggle in specially equipped hiding places,” Nebenzia said at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
“Until the situation related to the terrorist attack committed by Ukraine on October 29 against warships and civilians in the city of Sevastopol is clarified, the passage of ships through the safe passage established as part of the Black Sea Initiative has been suspended,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement. said in a statement on Monday.
The ministry emphasized that Russia did not withdraw from the Black Sea Initiative, but suspended the implementation of the agreements.
