The US military announced the suspension of the contract of a former general who advises the army, due to his comment on a tweet posted by Jill Biden, wife of US President Joe Biden.
The retired general’s tweet was seen as a “mockery” at the first lady on a sensitive social issue, the military said.
Retired Lieutenant General Gary Wolsky, a former Army spokesman and recipient of the Silver Star for bravery in Iraq, was the “first educator”, advising senior officers, staff and students participating in war games and other military activities.
This was stated by Army spokeswoman Cynthia Smith in a statement to the newspaper. USA today Lieutenant General Theodore Martin, commander of the Combined Arms Center, has suspended the duties of retired Lieutenant General Gary Volsky pending the results of the investigation.
On June 24, Jill Biden tweeted criticizing the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the right to abortion, stating: “Nearly 50 years ago, women had the right to make their own decisions about their bodies. Today, that right has been stolen.”
For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make their own decisions about their bodies.
Today this right has been stolen from us.
And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not remain silent. We will not sit idly by as the progress we have already made slips away.

“I’m glad to see you finally know what a woman is,” Volsky replied, although his comment was later deleted.
The American newspaper said that this comment is a violation of the rules of the retired officer and employee on the Pentagon’s payroll.
