Bayern Munich fans open doors for Lewandowski

An opinion poll showed today, Thursday, that 41% of Bayern Munich fans agree with the early departure of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

The survey was conducted by the demographic institute YouGov, commissioned by the German News Agency (dpa).

While the majority of Bayern fans voted for Lewandowski to leave, about a third of respondents answered “don’t know” or did not answer at all, and 24% of respondents believe that Bayern should keep their Polish goal until the end of the year .

Lewandowski’s future has been a matter of controversy at Bayern Munich for months now, as his contract with the team expires at the end of next season, but he wants to leave the Bayern club to join Barcelona this summer.

For now, Bayern Munich and its chief executive Oliver Kahn have confirmed that Lewandowski should stay until the end of his contract.

According to press reports, Bayern have rejected all of Barcelona’s offers to include Lewandowski in exchange for the Spanish club’s insistence on not increasing its financial offer from €40m, in addition to another €10m as a financial incentive for the player.
