Antonov: Relations between Moscow and Washington are in a deplorable state

Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that Washington has frozen all channels of communication with Moscow, there is no talk of stabilizing relations, and we will firmly defend Crimea and new territories.

Antonov said: “No one in Washington talks about the stability and development of bilateral relations. Russia here has unequivocally acquired the status of an adversary, one of the monsters that must be destroyed. All channels of communication are suspended at this time.”

The Russian ambassador added: “Relations between Moscow and Washington are in a deplorable state, they have reached a dangerous limit,” stressing that the United States is losing its influence in the world, and this trend will increase.

Antonov stressed that Russian diplomats are trying to contact their American counterparts to let them know that Moscow will protect Crimea and new regions as an integral part of the Russian Federation in case of possible strikes on the peninsula, which the Pentagon announced. .

He said: “I am absolutely convinced that we will defend Crimea and our new lands as an integral part of our country. And our actions in this matter will be firm. I wanted to say this idea in all our conversations with the Americans “friends”, but I could not say it, so let’s say “Partners”, it would probably be better for the interlocutors to admit that we are constantly trying to convey this to them so that they it is fully understood.

The ambassador also pointed out that Moscow is not satisfied with Washington’s attempts to impose its own rules of the game, and said: “We are not satisfied with the rules of the game that the Americans are trying to impose on us.”

The ambassador explained that the Russian Federation and the United States have not yet reached the peak of tension, as they did in the Caribbean crisis, and said: “It seems to me that we have not yet reached the peak of tension that has existed for 60 years. back.”
