Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said that the United States has an economic interest in waging a war of attrition against Russia at the hands of the Ukrainians.
In an interview with Novosti, he stressed that Washington is seeking to extract the maximum benefit from foreign arms supplies to Ukraine.
The ambassador added: “The White House cannot escape responsibility for prolonging the conflict and killing innocent people. But even so, the United States continues to pursue the tactics of continuing the war of attrition with obsessive determination. There is a process of attrition happening for everyone – Ukrainians, Russians, Europeans, as well as ordinary Americans. The saying is applied – Continue the war to the last Ukrainian.
The ambassador said: “Why is this happening? What is the reason for this American behavior, there are several reasons, one of which is the presence of economic interest. That is, making huge profits from the sale of huge quantities of military products and from the supply of liquefied natural gas. The reason lies mainly in business”.
