Nigerian Ambassador to Russia Abdullahi Shehu said that his country is ready to consider the request for recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, if received.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Shehu said: “When we get to the bridge, we will decide how to cross it. As far as I know, they (DNR and LNR) have not contacted us about this… If they make this request, we will consider it.”
Earlier, the North Korean Embassy in Moscow announced the recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
Later, the official DPRK agency reported that North Korea intends to develop relations with Donetsk and Luhansk in accordance with the principles of sovereignty, peace and friendship. In response, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Pyongyang and the termination of all economic and political contacts with it.
