Amal Abdel Hamid submits a request for a briefing after the Egyptian Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek

According to the Egyptian press, a member of the Egyptian House of Representatives, Amal Abdel Hamid, announced her intention to request a briefing from the Minister of Youth and Sports regarding the phenomenon of “anti-glare” among Al-Ahly and Zamalek fans.

Zamalek beat Al Ahly 2-1 in the 2021 Egypt Cup final between the two on Thursday at the Cairo International Stadium.

Amal Abdel Hamid said in a press statement: “As soon as an Al-Ahly or Zamalek team is defeated in a football match, be it locally or continentally, so-called interference spreads on social media. the team is starting to write comments, photos and videos that undermine and insult the losing team, this was evident in the match that recently brought them together.

The MP added: “People through social networks have become an Egyptian phenomenon among all the derbies in Egypt, which will cause problems and crises among Egyptian football fans and provoke a spirit of intolerance and hatred among them.”

Amal Abdel Hamid noted that the phenomenon of defamation in the sports community has turned into insults through social media pages, and infringement of people with slander and insults, and has gone deep into symptoms, which has become a phenomenon that calls to stand up and discuss ways to counter it.

And she continued: “Unfortunately, the sports media in Egypt is fueling this phenomenon, as some of these programs involve former players belonging to one of the two Egyptian football poles who declare their hatred for the other team and wish their opponent to lose. “

Representative Amal Abdel Hamid concluded: “We need to spread positive sporting values ​​based on the principles of love, peace and worthy sporting competition, and have a good spirit that should prevail among all. Don’t hurt him.”
