Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that reaching an agreement guaranteeing the interests of all during the talks in Doha is possible if Washington is serious.
Speaking to members of the Iranian embassy in Turkmenistan, Abdollahyan said, “If this stage of negotiations is accompanied by the seriousness and will of the American side and the three European countries, we will achieve results that guarantee the interests of all and return to the 2015 agreement.”
He added that any agreement in Doha must ensure that Tehran’s national interests are best served, adding: “We have asked the other side, through the European coordinator, to take a political path so that we can reach an agreement on the lifting of sanctions against our country.”
Earlier, Iran announced that Qatar had decided to hold indirect nuclear talks with the United States to renew the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal, which Washington withdrew from in 2018.
