19-year-old Russian wrestler Akhmed Gelichev was killed in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria in the North Caucasus, southwestern Russia.
The young wrestler tragically died after falling into a narrow lane in the Elbrus region, where the Russian youth wrestling team is holding a training camp.
The wrestler decided to make an independent ascent to Mount Boca Bashi, after which he fell into a narrow gorge at an altitude of 2500 meters.
The rescue team managed to find his body and set the time of his death.
Gelichev won the bronze medal of the Russian championship in freestyle wrestling, was a member of the youth team of Russia and the team of St. Petersburg.
