Zelensky widens scope of sanctions against Russia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose sanctions on 178 people, most of whom have Russian citizenship.

The decree was published on the website of the Ukrainian President.

These sanctions were introduced by Decree No. 321/2023 “On the Decree of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of June 11, 2023 “On the application and modification of special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against individuals”.

Valery Zorkin, the head of the Russian Constitutional Court, fell under the new Ukrainian sanctions.

According to the document, the new restrictions will continue to operate for 5 years, and also provide for the freezing of accounts, the restriction of commercial transactions, the termination of business and financial obligations, the introduction of a ban on the transfer of technology, intellectual property. rights and so on.

The last time Zelensky imposed sanctions against Russia at the end of May last year against 51 Russian citizens and 220 companies and organizations from Russia and Europe.
