The sporting director of the Algerian national team, Jahid Zefzaf, was elected today, Thursday, as the new president of the Algerian Football Federation, replacing the outgoing president, Sharafeddin Amar.
Zefzaf won 52 votes against 34 from his rival Abdelhakim Sarrar out of 98 votes of the members who were present at the work of the electoral assembly, in the lecture hall of the 5th of July stadium in Algeria’s capital – Algiers.
Former Algerian federation president Sharafeddin Amara resigned on March 31, just two days after the “Algerian team” failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after losing at home to their counterpart from Cameroon (1-2) in the second leg the decisive round of the African qualification for the World Cup.
