Worth $430 Billion.. Congress Approves Biden Climate and Health Plan

The US Congress in a final vote on Friday approved President Joe Biden’s climate and health plan, marking a major political victory for the Democratic president less than 3 months before a pivotal legislative election.

Democrats pushed their narrow majority in the House of Representatives to approve this more than $430 billion plan after a similar vote in the Senate a few days ago.

This plan, which should achieve its goals in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, still needs Biden’s signature to become law.

On August 7, the House of Representatives approved Biden’s vast climate and health plan, giving the White House a major midterm victory less than 100 days before a crucial election.

The plan, worth more than $430 billion, was approved only by members of the Democratic Party.

After 18 months of negotiations and a night of marathon debate, the House of Representatives passed the plan, with the Democrats holding a slim majority in the Senate, requiring only their votes to pass the text.
