A chatbot AI project called Bard, which Google unveiled Monday, has been under development for some time. The public will soon be able to use Bard, an experimental conversational AI tool for Google Search powered by Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA).

To deliver high-quality responses, Bard is said to “combine the depth of the world’s information with the strength, intelligence, and creativity of our massive language models,” just like ChatGPT does.

A simplified version of the LaMDA AI will be included in Bard. According to Google, it will scale well because it uses few processing resources. Before upgrading and improving, Google will use Bard’s initial launch as a testing platform. It will shortly start appearing on Google Search.

Microsoft conducted an event today where it revealed intentions to integrate conversational AI technologies into the Edge browser and the Bing search engine after Google’s Bard announcement. On ChatGPT, Microsoft and OpenAI collaborated. Bing and Edge have updated versions of the AI technology that underpins ChatGPT.

According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, “AI will profoundly transform every software area, starting with the largest category of the – search.”

Bing enables complicated searches that can be useful when creating a travel schedule or researching before purchasing a television. According to Microsoft, consumers can hone their searches by requesting additional information, clarity, and suggestions. Bing can also do creative tasks like email writing, making a trivia night quiz, preparing for an interview, and more.

Additionally accessible is the new Microsoft Edge browser with enhanced AI features. Edge can summarise reports and convey critical information, compare businesses and their offerings, and produce content when given a cue. Instruction can take tone, structure, and length into account.

Microsoft claims its new OpenAI model, tailored for search, is more potent than ChatGPT. “Faster, more accurate, and more capable” best describes the AI model.

Although only in a restricted preview capacity, the improved Bing search engine with ChatGPT integration is accessible right now. On the Bing website, users may test out sample inquiries and sign up for the queue. In the upcoming weeks, Microsoft intends to extend the preview to millions of users, and a mobile experience will soon be in preview.

Given that both Google and Microsoft are releasing conversational AI products, it’s plausible that Apple has plans to add similar features to the Safari browser eventually. The Bing and Google search engines, which can be accessed through the Safari browser, will first include AI chatbot capability.
