US General Issues Warning: Ukrainian Counter-Offensive to Have Devastating Consequences for Kyiv

US General Mark Miller said that the continuation of the counteroffensive by the Kyiv troops would have bloody consequences for the whole of Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian counterattack is expected to last at least ten weeks, and its results will be “bloody” for Ukraine,” Miller added in an interview with the German site Handelsblatt.

He pointed out that Russian mines placed in front of the fortified areas do not allow Ukrainian forces to move forward, and special equipment is required to deal with them.

He emphasized that the superiority of the Russian Air Force and control over airspace in the butt areas block the path of the Ukrainian forces and deprive them of a competitive advantage, and also complicate the Ukrainian situation.

He pointed out that the Ukrainian forces will not be able to compete with the Russian Air Force without developing and modernizing the equipment at their disposal, in addition to the Ukrainian Air Force.

The Ukrainian counterattack began on June 4 last year in several directions south of Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Artemovsk, where the greatest focus of the strike fell on the Zaporozhye direction.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that expectations regarding the results of the Ukrainian counterattack were overly exaggerated.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Russian war correspondents on June 13, said that Ukrainian troops suffered heavy losses during the counterattack and did not succeed in any direction.
