Us chamber of commerce joins lawsuit against discriminatory seattle minimum wage hike

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce signed an amicus brief on Tuesday in support of the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) lawsuit against a “discriminatory” part of Seattle’s recently passed minimum wage increase.

The law, which was signed by Seattle Mayor Ed Murray (D) in June, gives small businesses with fewer than 500 employees up to seven years to implement a $15 hourly wage, while franchised food chains, which are considered to be large employers, only get three to four years.
