Ukraine calls on the international community to introduce a no-fly zone over its nuclear power plants

Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mykola Tuchytsky called on the international community to introduce a no-fly zone over Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

“Decisive joint action is needed to prevent a nuclear catastrophe at the global level,” Tuchitsky said during a conference on the Nuclear Prohibition Treaty on Monday.

“We ask you to close the sky over the Ukrainian nuclear power plants and provide us with air defense systems,” he added.

It is noteworthy that there are 4 nuclear power plants operating in Ukraine, including 15 nuclear reactors, including the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, considered the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, which is currently under Russian control.
