UK plans to send artillery pieces and 50,000 shells to Ukraine

The UK plans to send dozens of artillery pieces, 1,600 anti-tank and 50,000 artillery shells to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

“In cooperation with international partners, we guarantee Ukraine the means to defend its country,” British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said Thursday, adding that the military aid package would also include anti-battery radars and hundreds of drones.

Earlier in June, outgoing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced another £1bn ($1.2bn) military aid package for Ukraine.

Thus, the total amount of military aid to Kyiv from London since the end of February last year has reached 2.3 billion pounds (2.7 billion dollars).
