Turkish opposition calls for mass rally in front of Istanbul Municipality

The Turkish opposition called for a massive rally in front of the Greater Istanbul Municipality at 4:00 pm today Thursday to protest the decision to imprison Istanbul’s opposition mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and deprive him of political activity.

This gathering will be led by the leaders of Turkey’s six main opposition parties: Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, head of the Republican People’s Party, Turkey’s largest opposition party, Meral Aksener, head of the National Welfare Party, and Ali Babacan, head of the Democratic Party. and Progress Party (dissident from the ruling Justice and Development Party) and Ahmet Davutoglu, head of the Future Party (dissident from the ruling Justice and Development Party), Temel Karamullah Oglu, head of the Islamic Happiness Party (conservative-religious) and Gultekin Uysal, head (Democratic Party ), in addition to the 10 mayors of major Turkish states.
