Stalled Grain Deal

The grain deal stalled on July 18 as Russia notified Turkey, Ukraine and the UN that it did not intend to renew it.

Russian President’s Remarks

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously pointed out that Western countries have failed to deliver on their promises and fulfill their obligations under the agreement, despite UN efforts.

Putin has repeatedly pointed out that the main purpose of the deal was to supply grain to countries in need, including African countries, but this was not achieved, since most of the Ukrainian grain was actually intended for Western countries.
