Turki Al-Sheikh revealed the reason for the acquisition of the Almeria club without outside help

Turki Al-Sheikh told the well-known program Al-Chirengueto that the club’s goal is to “stay in the spotlight”.

In response to a question about the reasons for his enthusiasm to buy Almeria and not clubs like Valencia, he said: “Because I loved the citizens of Almeria, Almeria has a great history with us, with the Arabs.”

He added: “Almería is a normal team in terms of football and if you come and invest you will make a name for yourself, unlike if you do it with a big club you will be a president like any other president. “

“We have five or six stars ready to join, but first we have to solve the problem with the salary cap in La Liga,” added the former president of the Arab Football Association and head of the Saudi Arabian Entertainment Authority.

Almería became Spanish second division champions in the 2021-22 season, returning to the spotlight for the first time in seven seasons, three years after the Turkish Al-Sheikh took over.
