Top "gold" Africa to Egypt

The Egyptian national team won the African Cup of Nations in handball at the expense of the Cap Verde team, defeating them in the final match that brought them together on Monday.

Cape Verde’s Pharaohs won by a wide margin of 12 goals, with (37-25) goals.

Thus, the Egyptian team won the gold medals for the second consecutive time in the tournament and the price in their history, while the Cape Verdean team made a big surprise by winning the silver medals.

Morocco took the tournament bronze by beating their Tunisian counterpart (28-24) in the third-place match, also earlier on Monday.

The team from Egypt and Cape Verde, in addition to Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria, have qualified for the World Handball Championship, which will be held in Poland and Sweden from 11 to 29 January 2023.

Egypt will play in Group G of the World Handball Championship along with Croatia, America and Morocco.

And Cape Verde was in Group C, which also included Sweden, Brazil and Uruguay.

Morocco will play in Group G of the World Handball Championship alongside African, Croatian and American champions.

So far, the Tunisian national team is in Group H, which also includes Denmark, Belgium and Bahrain.

As for Algeria, Africa’s fifth continent, it will play in Group E along with Germany, Qatar and Serbia.
