Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that Camilla, wife of Britain’s King Charles III, has tested positive for Covid-19.
The palace added that she had canceled all her public events for a week.
Medical examinations confirmed that Camila was infected with the Corona virus and this is the second time she has contracted the virus.
“After she developed symptoms of a cold, tests showed that Her Majesty, the King’s wife, was infected with the virus that causes Covid,” the palace said in a statement.
About a year ago, Camilla, 75, first contracted the coronavirus, days after her then-husband, Prince Charles, contracted Covid.
The World Health Organization has previously stated that the Corona virus continues to constitute a health emergency of international concern.
The organization added in a statement that the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee had expressed concern about the ongoing risks associated with Covid-19.
She noted that the epidemic was likely at a “transitional point”, emphasizing the need for careful management “to mitigate possible negative impacts.”
