The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) announced that it “located, tracked and intercepted 4 Russian aircraft” that entered Alaska’s air defenses on February 13.
And the US command in a statement said: NORAD detected, tracked and intercepted four Russian aircraft that entered the air defense zone in Alaska on February 13.
She added: “The Russian planes remained in international airspace and did not enter US or Canadian airspace.”
She added that the flight of Russian aircraft into the air defense zone in Alaska occurs regularly and is not considered a threat or a provocation.
NORAD expected such activity and was ready for it.
And she stressed that the combat sorties of Russian aircraft near Alaska “have nothing to do with the recent NORAD operations or the activity of the US military against the background of unidentified flying objects in the airspace of the United States and Canada.
