The Impact of US Inflation Data on the Dollar

The US dollar index fell today, Thursday, to its lowest level in 15 months after official data showed US inflation slowed last month.

And by 11:30 Moscow time, the dollar index, which measures the value of the US currency against a basket of major currencies, fell 0.23% to 100.28 points, and before that the index recorded 100.2 points, the lowest level since April 2022. .

Yesterday’s U.S. data showed that the U.S. CPI rose 3% year-on-year in June after rising 4% in May 2023.

The slowdown in inflation suggests that the rate hike cycle in the US is coming to an end.
