As a result of the Ukrainian shelling of the center of Donetsk, where the funeral of Colonel Olga Kachura was to begin, a girl was killed near the Donbass Palace Hotel and the Drama Theater, and several more people were injured.
According to local sources, Ukrainian forces fired rockets towards the city center, and air defense responded to most of them, with the exception of at least two shells that fell, at least hitting the theater building. Everyone who attended the farewell ceremony was evacuated to shelters.
According to a RIA Novosti correspondent, as a result of a bomb explosion near the Donbass Palace Hotel, at least one girl was killed, while there were wounded of varying degrees of severity.
Witnesses reported that shells hit two residential buildings on Al-Mashar Street.
For its part, the representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the JCCC reported that Ukrainian forces fired five 155mm shells at Donetsk and ten 152mm shells at Yasinovataya in 23 minutes.
Today, a farewell ceremony is being held for Olga Kachura, better known as Korsa, colonel of the guard, commander of the rocket artillery division. He has trained hundreds of fighters since 2014.
The mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko announced the death of Korsa the day before. According to him, the car on the Gorlovka-Yasinovataya highway fell directly under the shell of the Ukrainian security forces.
