Tehran responds to International Atomic Energy Agency on safeguards agreement and disputed files

Tehran has responded to accusations by International Atomic Energy Agency Director Rafael Grossi about the safeguards agreement and disputed files with Iran by stressing that all of Iran’s nuclear activities are conducted in accordance with the rules of the safeguards agreement.

In his response, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, said: “The International Atomic Energy Agency is present in Iran and closely monitors Iran’s nuclear activities”, stressing that “Iran started all their activities from the first day and tracked them in agreement with the agency and in accordance with its rules.

Islami added: “We do not in any way agree that the positions and pressures of the Zionist entity become the agenda of the Director General of the Agency. Certainly, if the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action has one reason, which is the only reason why we are accepting the agreement, is to circumvent and respond to these charges, which are the same charges that were leveled against the country 20 years ago, and in this there is nothing new”.

And he added: “The cases they claim, the alleged places and the alleged documents are all fabricated by the opponents of the revolution and the Zionist entity, and their accusations have already been answered several times”, explaining that “if this issue is used as a means of political pressure, this will not work, and they agreed with Iran to shut it down in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and they dropped those accusations.”
