Syrian Olympic Team’s Coaching Staff Dismissed by Federation Following West Asian Championship Exit

On Wednesday, the Syrian Football Association announced the dismissal of the coaching staff of the Olympic team, led by Dutchman Mark Fote, after the Syrian national team said goodbye to the West Asian Championship under 23 in the first round.

The Syrian Olympic team was eliminated from the tournament after two defeats in a row, the first of which was against
Palestine, with a score of 0-2, and the second today against Iran, with a score of 1-3.

After the defeat to Iran, the Syrian Football Association issued a statement on the dismissal of the coaching staff of the Olympic team, led by the Dutchman Mark Fote.

The statement indicated that Fota will remain as the technical director of the Syrian Federation and will be responsible for the development of age groups until the expiration of his contract.

The statement indicated that the new national technical composition of the Olympic team will be announced within the next two days.
