Algerian energy company Sonatrach announced today, Wednesday, the discovery of new oil in the completed Hassi Elato well in Ragaa-Sebaa, Adrar Governorate.
Sonatrach said in a statement: “This discovery, located 6 km from the Hassi Elato refining center, was made 28 years after the last oil discovery at Raka-Sebaa in 1994.”
Sonatrach’s initial estimate is between 48 million and 150 million barrels of oil, with the company confirming that “this positive result is very encouraging to continue exploration for hydrocarbons in the region to secure supplies.” Adrar Oil Refinery.
