Somali forces successfully neutralize hotel attackers in Mogadishu, but suffer casualties among own ranks and civilians

Somalia’s state television network SNTV reported today, Saturday, that at least 9 people were killed in an attack by the Islamist movement Al-Shabaab on a hotel in the country’s capital, Mogadishu.

The channel added, citing local police, “Security forces have completed the siege of the Pearl Beach Hotel in Mogadishu, killing all seven terrorists who stormed the hotel… The horrific attack killed 6 innocent civilians. 3 security personnel also died.” Safety during the operation. Security forces safely rescued 84 people.”

For its part, the SONNA agency indicated that 10 people were injured as a result of this attack.

And local media reported earlier in the day that Somali security forces were able to liberate the hotel and eliminate the terrorists.
