The Serbian Defense Ministry denied reports that its forces had entered the breakaway region of Kosovo and Metohija.
A statement released by the ministry said: “Due to the huge amount of misleading information deliberately transmitted by the administration of Pristina … which indicates that between the Serbian army and the so-called Protection confirms that the Serbian army did not cross the administrative border and in no way invaded the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
Earlier, Serbian media reported that sirens sounded in the northern part of Kosovo, and residents of the border zone reported hearing gunfire.
