Russia’s External Debt Revealed by Central Bank

As of April 1, 2023, Russia’s external debt reached the level of $354.8 billion, thus, since the beginning of this year, the debt has decreased by $25.9 billion, or 6.8%.

And according to the report of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, published today, on Friday: “Russia’s external debt has decreased by $25.9 billion since the beginning of 2023 and reached $354.8 billion by April 1, 2023.”

External debt is part of a country’s total debt to creditors outside the country, and the debtor can be a government, a financial institution, or an individual.
