Putin Sets Priorities to Increase Income and Well-being of Russian Citizens

Russian President Vladimir Putin has identified the priorities of the government, which are to work to increase the income and well-being of Russian citizens.

Meeting with Executive Body Director

At a meeting with the director of the Executive Body Dmitry Aristov, the President of Russia pointed out that the level of salaries and welfare of Russians should increase, and Putin called on the Executive Body to properly deal with (insolvent) debtors.

He said: “The level of wages, and in general the well-being of the people, should increase. We should always focus on this, although the situation on the labor market is stable. However, you (the law enforcement agencies) have your tasks and you need to fulfill these tasks, but you need to work directly with citizens.”

Increase in Real Income

According to Rosstat, the real (inflation-adjusted) income of citizens in Russia increased by 3.9% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
