Russian Foreign Ministry: NATO summit outcomes indicate a revival of Cold War strategies

The Russian Foreign Ministry said today, Wednesday, that the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius indicate that the alliance has definitively returned to Cold War plans.

The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius, stressing that “Ukraine is called upon to play the role of the main consumer in the hybrid conflict unleashed by NATO, which is still on the way to escalation, so that they release a new part of the promises to provide the Kiev regime with more modern and long-range weapons to prolong the conflict as long as possible.

The ministry said that “Moscow is carefully analyzing the outcome of the NATO summit, taking into account the challenges and threats to Russia’s security and interests, as Russia will work to strengthen its defense and response in a timely manner using all available aspects and methods.” against the decisions of the NATO countries”.

The ministry added that “NATO continues its provocative expansionist policy, whipping up military-political tensions in order to achieve superiority.”

And the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded that “the established NATO-Ukraine Council, where Kiev was promised the opportunity to allegedly participate on an equal footing with the member states of the alliance, confirmed the Bucharest formula of 2008, according to which Ukraine would join NATO, but again, they did not decide when will.. But this time it was softened by removing the requirement to complete the membership action plan as a prerequisite for joining the coalition.”

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg previously announced the creation of the NATO-Ukraine Council at its first meeting as part of the Vilnius Summit, and the allies during the meeting confirmed that Ukraine would become a NATO member, and they agreed to cancel the requirements of the membership plan.
