The prosecutor’s office for the Eastern District of New York announced the extradition of Russian citizen Vadim Konoshinka to Estonia.
Konoshinka is accused in the United States of purchasing electronics for the Russian defense sector in violation of US sanctions against Russia, and the US authorities call him a “Russian intelligence officer.”
The Russian citizen is due to appear in a US court later on Friday. If found guilty, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
It is noteworthy that Vadim Konoshinok was detained in Estonia in December last year. In connection with this case, the United States arrested two more Russian citizens – Alexei Braiman and Vadim Yermolenko.
