Russia Successfully Solves Problems with BRICS Countries, Says Finance Minister

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Russia, within the framework of the BRICS group, manages to solve problems, especially those related to the exchange of goods and settlements, which are difficult to solve with Western countries.

Successful Resolution of Problems

“We have successfully solved the problems of commodity exchange and settlements (with the BRICS countries). All those tasks that are difficult to solve today with a number of countries. First of all, these are Western countries,” the minister said.

He added that the BRICS countries have become the main economic partners of Russia. “Today the direction is shifting from west to east. To those countries that have become our main trading partners. They are all members of the BRICS,” Siluanov said.

Non-Politicized Basis

Siluanov noted that BRICS is a community of friendly countries whose goal is to improve the living conditions of their people and further develop their economic potential “on a non-politicized basis, based on the mutual benefit of countries.”

Development of Integration Institutions

According to him, a number of discussions are now on the agenda on the development of integration institutions that will help Russian companies trade within the BRICS countries, as well as provide the entire financial and trade infrastructure.

BRICS Summit in Johannesburg

On August 22-24, the 15th BRICS summit took place in the city of Johannesburg in South Africa, where the issues of admitting new members and developing an economic, commercial and financial plan for the bloc were discussed.

At its summit, the BRICS group invited 6 countries to its membership, the list included 3 Arab countries, namely Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
