British newspaper The Guardian reported Wednesday that Frenchman Benjamin Mendy, a Manchester City player, has been charged with harassment and attempted rape of a woman who came to his home to meet another player.

For its part, The Guardian newspaper indicated that the following year, 2018, an unnamed woman agreed to meet Fofana at the million-pound Mindy Palace Hotel in Cheshire, West Britain.
It quotes a woman who said that she went out to dinner with the players that evening and they went to several nightclubs in Manchester, noting that they had two women with them, one of them “very beautiful” who seemed to was with Mindy and she was sitting with him.
In an interview that was taped last January, the woman told jurors that Mindy approached her against her will and touched her, whispering in her ear, “I’m going to kidnap you.”
She said that she thought he was joking and responded to his words by saying, “No, you won’t,” moving his hands away from her, indicating that she would like to get closer to Fofana, and adding, “I made it clear to him that my intentions were completely focused on Fofan.”
The newspaper reported that the woman spent the night with Fofana but, upon waking up in the morning to shower, said she was surprised by the player Mindy, who burst into the bathroom in only her underwear, and stated that she tried to find a towel and reach for her clothes and that it prevents them from doing so.
She noted that he pulled her and forced her to sit on his lap, despite her repeated requests to him to stop, and began to whisper obscene words in French in her ear.

She stated that she told one of her friends about the incident, but did not tell the police until August 2021, after Mindy was arrested for raping other women.
Although Mindy denies the incident and denies trying to rape any woman at a time, he faces a total of ten rape and sexual harassment cases against seven women.
