Putin wished the Emir of Qatar success in hosting the 2022 World Cup

Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held today, Thursday, in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, success in holding the World Cup in Qatar.

The Russian leader indicated that Moscow was ready to share its own experience in hosting a major sporting event with Qatar.

“We are doing everything possible in terms of sharing the experience of preparing for the World Cup, as you know, now we have the opportunity to talk about this,” Putin said.

Then the Russian President expressed confidence that Qatar would be able to host the 2022 World Cup at the same high level that Russia offered in 2018.

“I wish you success in holding this grand event, and I am sure that it will be so,” he continued.

Qatar will host the World Cup final from November 20 to December 18, 2022, becoming the first Arab country to host a big football wedding and the first time in a winter season in the tournament’s history.

The Russian national team will not participate in this tournament due to the freezing of its participation in qualifying matches by the FIFA International Football Association against the backdrop of a Russian special operation in Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that Russia hosted the 2018 World Cup from June 14 to July 15, and the French team won in the final at the expense of the Croatian team.
