Putin Visits Newly Annexed Regions in Russia, Inspects Liberated City of Mariupol in Donbas

Today, Sunday, the Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the city of Mariupol in the Donbas.

The Kremlin press service added that the Russian President inspected a number of city facilities and talked with local residents, noting that President Putin arrived in the city of Mariupol by helicopter, then drove by car through several districts of the city, where he stopped, and the Russian President spoke in the area “Nevsky” with the townspeople, at the invitation of one of the families, Putin visited their house.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khosnullin informed the President in detail about the progress of construction and restoration work in the city and its environs.

The press service of the Kremlin indicated that “they spoke, in particular, about the construction of new small residential areas, social and educational facilities, infrastructure for public utilities and medical institutions.”

The press service added that “the head of state also examined the coastline in Mariupol in the Yacht Club area, the theater building and other areas of the city.

Putin also held a meeting in Rostov-on-Don at the headquarters of the special military operation.

And the Russian Defense Ministry reported on March 6 that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, as part of a working visit to the area of ​​​​the special military operation, inspected the work carried out by the military construction complex of the Russian Defense Ministry in order to restore the infrastructure of Donbass, including in Mariupol.

It should be noted that the Russian Defense Ministry announced in April last year the liberation of the city of Mariupol, which was under the control of the Ukrainian extremist Azov battalion.
