Putin invited the leaders of the Caspian region to the festival of carpet weaving

Russian President Vladimir Putin invited the Caspian countries (Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan) to hold a festival of carpet weaving.

At the Caspian Summit, the President of Russia proposed to the heads of states (Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan) to instruct the ministries of culture to organize a traveling exhibition or festival of carpet weaving masterpieces.

The President of Russia pointed out that such an event could be held on an experimental basis throughout the Caspian region.

He said: “Issues of developing cultural, educational, sports, tourism and youth exchanges between the five countries require close attention. Therefore, we propose, in particular, to instruct the ministries of culture to collect masterpieces of carpet weaving, of which all our countries are proud of them, and organize them as a traveling exhibition or festival throughout the region.”

He also pointed out the importance of developing regional tourism, which will help bring the peoples of the five countries closer together.

Today, Wednesday, the Caspian Summit started with the participation of the leaders of Russia, Turkmenistan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, which is scheduled to exchange views on a wide range of issues of cooperation in the Caspian region.
