The head of the press center of the Southern Group of Forces, Vadim Astafyev, said that Russian forces had stopped an attempt to rotate a Ukrainian military unit near the city of Marinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Astafiev said: “An attempt to rotate the personnel of the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was stopped in the area of the village of Maryinka. Special forces of the Southern Group of Forces and artillery of the 1st Corps destroyed several Ukrainian units of up to 30 people.
He added that the artillery of the 1st Corps also destroyed a convoy of Ukrainian military equipment in the Orlovka residential area in the direction of Avdiivka.
He continued: “The Grad system destroyed 5 armored vehicles and killed up to 25 Ukrainian soldiers.”
In addition, the aviation of the Southern Military District destroyed the stronghold of the 81st Aviation Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the village of Grigorovka in the direction of Lisichansk.
The missile unit of the Southern Group of Forces also carried out a temporary stop of the enemy’s 60th mechanized brigade in the city of Kramatorsk, as a result of which “a large number of military equipment and Ukrainian personnel” were destroyed.
