Dr. Abdel Awal Mohamed, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports of Egypt, received the President of the Russian International Boxing Federation, Omar Krimlev, upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport.
Omar Krimlev’s visit to Cairo is connected with the events of the Arab Boxing Championship, which will be held in Egypt from 1 to 7 August.
The Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports was accompanied by Dr. Abdel Aziz Ghoneim, Secretary General of the Egyptian Olympic Committee and President of the Egyptian Boxing Federation, and Dr. Mohamed El Domiati, Director General of Sports Organizations.
Omar Karimlev, President of the International Boxing Federation, expressed his joy at his visit to Egypt and participation in the competitions of the Arab Boxing Championship, and also that he could not refuse the invitation of the Arab and Egyptian federations, and always wished success to Dr. Abdel Aziz Ghoneim, President Egyptian Games Federation and Treasurer of the Egyptian Olympic Committee.
The tournament draw resulted in the Egyptian team losing to Yemen at the start of the tournament run, and the tournament should start today.
Egyptian Ahmed Abdel Hafiz will face his Yemeni counterpart Ahmed Al-Khudari in the 60 kg weight category, and Egyptian champion Ahmed Mohamed Heikal will also face Yemeni Ismail Ziad Al-Qasim in the 63.5 kg weight category. Quarterfinal action.
Thirteen Arab countries will take part in the tournament, namely: Egypt, Syria, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Palestine, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq and Yemen.
