Qatar’s official news agency stated that the flag was “up to 11 meters long and 28 meters wide”, noting that “it was made from over 6,000 footballs in burgundy and white, the flag’s two distinctive colors. flag of Qatar.

The agency added: “The flag was assembled at the newly opened arena at Doha Festival City, where Guinness World Records officials were in attendance to follow the event and document the record.”

The agency quoted Mashael Al Derham, Assistant General Manager for Communications and Quality Assurance at the bank, as saying: “We are thrilled to join the Qataris and Qatari visitors in making history by celebrating the most important sporting event that Qatar is hosting for the first time in the Arab world and in the Middle East.”

Al Dirham added: “The record breaking is an initiative by the bank to celebrate this historic achievement for the people of Qatar and the region, and to connect audiences and cultures from all over the world.”

Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup from November 20 to December 18.

Team Qatar, participating in the World Cup for the first time, is in Group A along with Ecuador, Senegal and the Netherlands.

The opening match will feature Qatar vs. Ecuador at Al-Bayt Stadium.
